Culinarian Goodness Tip #1 Making gil

Hello guys and girls i've been actively busy leveling all sorts and jobs and crafts and stumbled across a pretty decent way in making Gil in game with a low level Culinarian. This would involve Smooth Butter its a cheap syth to make everything can be bought via the Culinarian guild supply vendor. Depending on your server "make sure you check prices in advance!" Also how lazy people are you can profit nicely here.

Smooth butter is a crafting material and to make 99 of them can take a while if your in need of the material in order to craft something else, so most people will just buy it of the Market instead of crafting it. On my server a stack on 99 goes for 7k each and it doesn't take long to fill your bag with a couple of stacks this price goes higher with higher quality smooth butter obviously.

I hope this helps fellow Culinarians on there cooking ventures!

Level 37+ farming spot! Sheeps

Here we go again with another awesome farming spot in Camp Dragonhead, which at times may be crowded unless your lucky! So I would advise trying to farm early hour's of the morning or late at night. unless you love to compete then I would suggest a range class as i had one heck of a time battling range classes for tags on my paladin..

The items we will be farming are Fleece and Karakul skin, Fleece being worth the most a whopping 50k for 99 of them on my server. Remember mobs tend to drop up to x3 of items in FFXIV, it should sound less daunting to some!

There is also a potential to make even more gil by utilizing the drops themselves with crafting like weaving so the option's are there!

Get out there and farm some Sheepies!

Farming Crystal's

There are many way's to obtain crystal's in FFXIV, the most cost effective method is also the most time consuming sadly but i will explain how you could go about it and also share how i replenish my crystal stock.

Tradecraft Leve's are a very good way to obtain crystal's as you should be doing them anyway i wont go in to much details about this method as it's capped by allowances you get every 12 hour's but every little bit helps.

Disciples of Land have access to various way's to get crystal's even at low level's but they may not be the exact shard your looking for allow me to explain. Mining at level 1 allows player's to mine Fire crystal shard's from a node. this changes with every location and it goes the same for each other Gathering Class like Botanist for example. Here are some other location's in which i know thus far.

Fire Shards: Western Thanalan (Hammerlea)
Wind Shards: Central (Spineless Basin), Northern Thanalan (Bluefog lvl50 area)
Earth Shards: Lower La Noscea (Cedarwood), North Shroud (Treespeak and Peacegarden)
Ice Shards:  Western La Noscea (Skull Valley), South Shroud (Upper Paths)
Lightning Shards: Central, Southern Thanalan
Water Shards: Eastern La Noscea, Western Thanalan
Please note that all this information is listed in your Gathering Log via your Personal Log in game. Make good use of this as it will help you through out your adventure.

There are a few other way's to farm crystal's Farming the actual sprites which are found all over Eorzea but i reckon if your high enough this method is way more productive time wise then farming the actual crystal's. ;
There is a trick i use if your higher in level you can farm Banemites (lvl25) for the there silk and sell it through your retainer, with the Gil made replenish your crystal stock. this in term in way more expensive but it's alot less time consuming also less stressful as you can see from my snapshot Im all good in the crystal hood lol

I hope this is useful to player's

Disciples Where Art Thou? (Farming Gil)

This is a farming spot that even people with no Disciples Of Hand can farm quite a fortune at, If your a Weaver you could potentially make even more Gil depending on your server. Before you go running off in to the sunset i would run to the nearest Market Board and check on the prices for Diremite Sinew and Diremite Web, Currently the prices for Direweb on my server is a whopping 50k Gil but these prices tend to fluctuate quite often, It would be up to you when to post stacks up for sale but either way your going to make some fat coin!

The location is in the North Shroud, just right of Fallgourd Float and the least busy in my opinion and experiences. The mobs are roughly level 25+ but are quite easy to farm, spawn rate is really high as im currently level 38 and having them re-spawn as I farm with no downtime what so ever!. If your having troubles affording gear or Leveling your Disciples Of Hand due to the costs of Crystals or not being able to afford the materials necessary this may be the answer to some till i post more i find on my ventures!

Hope this helps some people, Have a lovely one!

To Leve or not to Leve that is the question!

Doing Leve quest's for Fieldcrafts such as Mining and Tradecraft Leve's such as Goldsmithing in my case are still the single most fastest way to level your profession's be it Gathering or Crafting! The only problem in leveling this way is you get so many Leve's per 12 hour's, 3 to be exact!

Which doesn't sound all to great does it? but ever hear the term less is more? save your Leve quest's for soley leveling your profession's and focus on leveling them the old fashioned way we all hate, im pretty sure in time you'll check back and be surprised!

If by chance you'd like a chart on where one can do higher level Leve's then check out this link below i use it from time to time, it lists all locations for every type of Leve.

Leveling Gathering or Crafting with ease

Let's get in to some of the basic's shall we, I will be using Goldsmithing and Mining as there the two profession's i chose to start out with.

Once you buy or acquire the weapon needed to activate the class we are good to go!

In my case it was a Weathered Pickaxe, Weathered Chaser Hammer (Goldsmithing)

Equip them accordingly to activate the class but i reckon you already know this! At lower levels of Crafting and Gathering it is not really required to have complete Crafting and Gathering Gear sets to achieve the best results but i might stress the importance of having them. If you have gil to invest pick up a complete level Mining set as it does help with Gathering and Crafting!

With gear be it Crafting or Gathering it can really make a difference to a successful gather or craft, I must stress this as it will make your life in FFXIV ARR alot easier.

The above photo shows my % of gathering a High-density Siltstone with my current gear during a leve gather quest. it does help quite alot as well as using your skills you acquire in your gathering ventures! If your gear is not up to date or a few levels behind you..well you may be riddle with the sound of a thump lol a miss until you buy newer gear!

Have fun! <(^^)>

First Post on the new Blog!

As a new player to FFXIV, old one to FFXI this is the start to a long and adventurous quest to help people with some information on Crafting, Gathering and potentially Farming for Gil to put a stop to Gil sellers. Huzzaaa!

I for one hate the constant bombardment with whisper's or /tell's in game with Gil seller quotes and aim to educate people where needed in the Gil making department. Not everyone has the know how or time to invest to learn as much as other's or get mentally ill with the thought of long hour's of crafting with no results or worse hate the thought of doing it!

With the information i will be posting here maybe it could spark some hope and interest in learning the game's economy as well as getting rich and buying what you so deserve.

The information could be different from server to server but i aim to show you how to check and learn when a item is worthy of Crafting or Selling.

So Enjoy FFXIV my fellow players!
